The first South Park: The Game details have emerged from the latest issue of Game Informer. As has already been reported, Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment is developing the title. THQ will publish the game next year.

-The first game Parker and Stone have directly participated in, writing the script and the dialogue.

-Parker has always preferred silent protagonists in RPG?s, so the player?s character will be silent.

-The player?s character will be fully customizable.

-Your character has a smartphone that acts as the primary game menu and has a facebook-like app show your number of friends you have and your current standing with the various kid factions.

-There are five classes, which are wizard, paladin, adventurer, rogue, and a fifth unannounced class.

-Obsidian is using the Dungeon Siege III engine.

-Obsidian developed a dynamic lip-syncing tool to accommodate changes to the script.

-Parker and Stone gave Obsidian 15 years of assets used during the show and a detailed list of approved textures and colors.

-Critical hits, cash rewards, experience, and consumables are in the game.

-Parker hates unskippable cutscenes.

-The humor will be more focus on the games they have played in the past but Parker mentions that games have lampooned other games before so they don?t want to do exactly that instead they are focusing more on RPG?s on how big and bombastic they can get sometimes.

Combat

-Combat system is like Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi games.

-If player initiates combat they will attack first and vice versa.

-X button is for melee attacks, pressing it in well-timed succession will result in multiple hits.

-Timed inputs occur for defense as well for reduced damage.

-Obsidian doesn?t want the player to have to sit and watch animations play out; they?re incorporating dynamic camera angels at certain times, such as a Ro Sham Bo attack that stuns an enemy.

RPG

-Enemy encounters are visible on the map.

-Soda are health potions and Tweak?s coffee is a haste item.

-There are melee and ranged weapons, as well as a lightning powered Okama Gameshpere that is a magic item.

-There is a Final Fantasy Materia like system in the game to augment weapons with various abilities like fire, poison, and electricity.

-There is a Summon System but they are not able to talk about it.

Collectibles

-There are collectibles to look for in the environments, some appear throughout the game while other are in specific areas.

-An example of a collectible is a Chinpokomon doll and a magazine, Chinpokomon dolls are not all the same model Obsidian are using various models that appeared in the episode.

Other

-When Obsidian were first coming up with ideas they show Parker and Stone a quest where you go into a cave and fight a giant bat boss that Ike is riding on, Parker and Stone said that the quest wasn?t Southpark, that it was a generic video-game. Parker and Stone then mention a quest to get Kung Pao Chicken from City Wok, to readjust Obsidian focus.

-When they start making the town hub Parker and Stone realized that they a true layout for the town, so they had fun figuring out where everything went.

-There will not be any platforming, they tried jumping early on but it didn?t seem right.

-They talk about how they have had to scrap level because the perspective wasn?t right because everything is hand illustrated and hand animated.

-They talk about the challenges of making a comedy driven game, Portal 2 is mention, they say if Portal 2 dialogue was on top of a shitty game it wouldn?t be as good, so they want to make a game that is as good as the dialogue.

Interview with Trey Parker and Matt Stone

-Parker and Stone really enjoy rpgs and they do think that rpgs are the best fit for southpark.

-They were asked of how making a rpg story differs for an episode, they say that the learning curve was be bigger than anything they have done other then their Broadway musical.

-Visual and Visual style seen in episodes like ?Good Times With Weapons?, or the live action hamsters in ?Pandemic? will not be in the game they want to keep a simple 2D style.

-Parker has been a lifelong gamers, he really likes rpgs because he like the singleplayer nature of them so he doesn?t like or get MMO?s. His favorite game is Oblivion.

-Matt when he was young used to play the old Infocom game and Wizardry and likes open world games like Arkham City, Infamous, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and also hockey and soccer games. He mention that he is more of a button masher and remember Serious Sam because he likes to shoot shit and blow shit up but he is now more interested in games like Arkham City and he hasn?t play a RPG in year because he got tired of walking everywhere. His favorite game is FIFA and he mentions getting his ass kick online by kids with English Accents.

-Lastly they joke how this Southpark game will be a cross between Obilivion and FIFA were ?you gotta go kill a bunch of monsters and shit but you can only use your feet.?

Story

-The player will play as the new kid in town, the main theme of the game is fitting in and being accepted.

-The story begins with your character participating in a live action role-playing game that the neighborhood kids started, which eventually evolves into a real adventure.

-Eric Cartman will greet your character and help you decide your class, which are wizard, paladin, adventurer, rogue, and a fifth unconventional class made up by Cartman.

Concept Art

-The first concept art is a ?Gnome Mine? a concept, my guess underpants gnomes.

-The second concept art is ?UFO Crash Site?, it shows Kenny, Cartman, Stan, and Kyle in front of a military fence with a UFO further away in a forest surround in mountains.

-The third concept art is a ?Gnome/Crab People D.M.Z.? label as a rough concept, it show a border fence with gnomes on one side and Crab People on the other side.

-The last concept art is ?Christmas Town? a concept.

Wife: US official accused in Chile has Alzheimer's (AP)

NICEVILLE, Fla. ? An ex-U.S. Navy officer named in a Chilean extradition request tied to the 1973 execution of two Americans during the Pinochet dictatorship has Alzheimer's and is living in a U.S. nursing home, his wife said Thursday.

Patricia Davis told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from her Florida home that her husband, former U.S. Navy Capt. Ray E. Davis, "doesn't open his eyes. He doesn't speak. ... He doesn't recognize me. I don't count anniversaries anymore."

She refused to say which nursing home he is living in.

Davis noted her husband previously denied charges that he was involved in the killing of journalist Charles Horman and student Frank Teruggi, both U.S. citizens. Horman's plight was dramatized in the Academy Award-winning 1983 film "Missing."

Ray Davis commanded the U.S. military mission in Chile at the time of the Sept. 11, 1973, coup that toppled socialist President Salvador Allende and put Gen. Augusto Pinochet in power. As part of his duties, Davis worked as a liaison between the U.S. and Chilean militaries.

"He always spoke about them openly," Patricia Davis said of the charges against her husband. "He didn't have any hidden thing about this. He was always a perfect military man."

Chilean lawyer Sergio Corvalan, who represents Horman's widow, told the AP that he believed Ray Davis was also in the U.S.

"That the latest information that we have had," Corvalan said.

Horman had worked as a screenwriter for Chile's state film company during Allende's government and was investigating suspected U.S. military involvement in the coup when Chilean authorities detained him, according to the extradition request by Chilean Judge Jorge Zepeda, which was announced Tuesday.

Zepeda wrote that U.S. agents had labeled Horman's film activities "subversive," a characterization repeated by Chilean intelligence officials who later executed him. The request adds that "there are presumptions that following the covert operations that (Davis) completed in Chile, designated against Charles Edmund Horman Lazar, he decides to not annul the decision of the material authors of this death, despite having the possibility of doing it."

U.S. journalist John Dinges, who has written extensively about the history surrounding the coup, said the judge's request goes further than the movie "Missing," which accused U.S. officials of tacitly tolerating Horman's execution.

"They're saying (Davis) produced the information that led to his death and when Chileans consulted about it, he decided not to oppose it," Dinges said. "That's pretty strong, I think."

Chile's Supreme Court must still approve the extradition request. Tuesday's court statement also said retired Chilean army Brigadier Pedro Espinoza Bravo had been charged in the murders. The request cites Chilean and U.S. documents from the period.

Dinges said the U.S. would not likely extradite Davis, but extradition treaties usually require the host country to conduct its own investigation into the matter as an alternative.

"Two American citizens killed by a friendly government with the suggestion that we might have had something to do with this ? it was never investigated but now it should be," Dinges said.

Reached by telephone Thursday, Terry Simon, a friend of Horman, said she was with him in the Chilean coastal city of Vina del Mar during the coup and said she believed Horman was killed because of information U.S. Navy officials shared with them as they waited to return to the capital.

Simon said Navy officials told them that U.S. ships were off the coast during the coup, and one American suggested he had been on board a Chilean ship then. Simon said she believes she wasn't arrested because she had moved to a downtown Santiago hotel, while Horman stayed at his house.

"I think because of what we learned ... and being with the U.S. naval group, I think that's why Charlie was picked up and killed," Simon said.

Davis gave Simon and Horman a ride back to Santiago, she said.

"Capt. Davis met us through the people in Vina, so it could have very well been that he was asking them questions and somehow found out they had really told us a lot of information at the time when the U.S. was denying any kind of support or involvement," Simon said.

Rafael Gonzalez Verdugo, an ex-Chilean intelligence officer, said he was asked to translate for Horman on Sept. 17, 1973, during an interview with Gen. Augusto Lutz.

"I ask if they see if there's information about Horman," Gonzalez said. "They don't hesitate and tell me, 'Negative.' ... This was the 17th. On the 18th, a military patrol delivers Horman to a morgue and say they found him in the street, shot."

Australian court extends ban on Galaxy tab sales (AP)

SYDNEY ? Apple Inc. won a small victory on Friday in its global patent battle with rival Samsung, after Australia's highest court temporarily extended a ban on sales of Samsung's Galaxy tablet computers in the country.

Samsung Electronics Co. is desperate to begin selling the Galaxy in Australia in time for Christmas sales, but the High Court's decision means the device can't go on the market until at least Dec. 9.

Apple took Samsung to court in Australia after accusing the Suwon, South Korea-based company of copying its iPad and iPhone. In October, a Federal Court judge ordered Samsung to halt sales of the device ahead of a trial. Samsung appealed, and on Wednesday, a full bench of the Federal Court threw out the earlier ruling and said Galaxy sales could resume on Friday.

But Apple immediately appealed that decision to the High Court, which on Friday said the temporary injunction against sales would be extended for another week while it considers Apple's latest arguments.

"Samsung believes Apple has no basis for its application for leave to appeal and will vigorously oppose this to the High Court," Samsung said in a statement.

The legal back-and-forth is all part of a larger, international battle over the technology giants' competing tablets. Cupertino, California-based Apple struck first when it sued Samsung in the United States in April, alleging the product design, user interface and packaging of the Galaxy "slavishly copy" the iPhone and iPad. Samsung hit back with lawsuits accusing Apple of patent infringement of its wireless telecommunications technology.

The companies have now filed lawsuits in 10 countries. Courts in several nations, including Germany and the Netherlands, have issued rulings that favor Apple.

Apple spokeswoman Fiona Martin declined to comment on Friday's ruling, instead issuing a general statement blasting Samsung.

"It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging," Apple said in the statement. "This kind of blatant copying is wrong and, as we've said many times before, we need to protect Apple's intellectual property when companies steal our ideas."

Google in Talks with Retailers to Take on Amazon [REPORT] (Mashable)

Google is talking to major retailers about a new plan to undermine Amazon by giving consumers who shop on the web an option to receive their orders within 24 hours for a low fee, according to a report. Google has pitched the idea to Macy's, Gap and OfficeMax, among others, according to The Wall Street Journal, which cited "people familiar with the matter." A Macy's rep told WSJ that Google "approached us with the idea, but we haven't made any decisions."

The plan would add a quick shipping service to Google's current product search feature. Google would oversee the shipping feature, which would show whether stores have a product in stock and can deliver it within a day. The program might involve the United Parcel Service and local courier services, according to the WSJ.

Google plans to test the service in the San Francisco area sometime next year, according to the report.

EU monetary chief sees 10 days to rescue euro zone (Reuters)

BRUSSELS/LONDON (Reuters) ? Europe faces a crucial 10 days to save the euro zone after agreeing to ramp up the firepower of its bailout fund but acknowledging it may have to turn to the International Monetary Fund for more help to avert financial disaster.

"We are now entering the critical period of 10 days to complete and conclude the crisis response of the European Union," Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn said on Wednesday as EU finance ministers met.

Euro zone ministers agreed on Tuesday night on detailed plans to leverage the European Financial Stability Mechanism (EFSF), but could not say by how much because of rapidly worsening market conditions, prompting them to look to the IMF.

Italian and Spanish bond yields resumed their inexorable climb towards unsustainable levels on Wednesday, as markets assessed the rescue fund boost as inadequate.

Stocks fell and the euro weakened after ratings agency Standard & Poor's hit some of the world's leading banks with a credit downgrade.

"It must also be remembered that the EFSF is already funding at very wide (borrowing) levels over Germany, struggled in its last auction to raise the required funds and would have its rating put under severe pressure by any rating downgrade of France," Rabobank strategists said in a note.

"This must call into question any plans related to the EFSF. It is yesterday's solution and the market has simply moved on."

Two years into Europe's sovereign debt crisis, investors are fleeing the euro zone bond market, European banks are dumping government debt, south European banks are bleeding deposits and a recession looms, fuelling doubts about the survival of the single currency.

"We are now looking at a true financial crisis -- that is a broad-based disruption in financial markets," Christian Noyer, France's central bank governor and a governing council member of the European Central Bank, told a conference in Singapore.

The 17-nation Eurogroup adopted detailed plans to insure the first 20-30 percent of new bond issues for countries having funding difficulties and to create co-investment funds to attract foreign investors to buy euro zone government bonds.

Both schemes would be operational by January with about 250 billion euros from the euro zone's EFSF bailout fund available to leverage after funding a second rescue program for Greece, Eurogroup chairman Jean-Claude Juncker said.

The aim was for the IMF to match and support the new firepower of the EFSF, Juncker told a news conference.

But with China and other major sovereign funds cautious about investing more in euro zone debt, EFSF chief Klaus Regling said he did not expect investors to commit major amounts to the leveraging options in the next days or weeks, and he could not put a figure on the final size of the leveraged fund.

"It is really not possible to give one number for leveraging because it is a process. We will not give out a hundred billion next month, we will need money as we go along," Regling said.

RADICAL MEASURES?

Most analysts agree that only more radical measures such as massive intervention by the ECB to buy government bonds directly or indirectly can staunch the crisis.

The prospects of drawing the IMF more deeply into supporting the euro zone are uncertain. Several big economies are skeptical of European calls for more resources for the global lender.

The United States, Japan and other Asian states are hesitant to chip in unless Europe commits to first use its own resources to fix the problem and peripheral euro zone states map out more concrete steps on fiscal and economic reforms.

"Nobody wants to spend money on something they doubt would work," a G20 official said.

"That goes not only for Europe but for any other country outside Europe. The threshold for seeking IMF help is quite high. Those seeking help need to be willing to give up some of their jurisdiction on fiscal policy and willing to undergo painful reform. Mere pledges and speeches won't do."

New Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti outlined his plans to the euro zone ministers and was told he would have to take extra deficit cutting measures beyond an austerity plan already adopted to meet its balance budget promise in 2013.

Italian bond yields are now above the levels at which Greece, Ireland and Portugal were forced to apply for EU/IMF bailouts, and Rome has a wall of issuance due from late January to roll over maturing debt.

GREECE GETS CASH

The Eurogroup ministers agreed to release their portion of an 8 billion euro aid payment to Greece, the sixth installment of 110 billion euros of EU/IMF loans agreed last year and necessary to help Athens stave off the immediate threat of default.

Juncker said the money would be released by mid-December, once the IMF signs off on its portion early next month.

G20 leaders promised this month to boost the agency's warchest. However, another G20 source said policymakers had made no progress since then in efforts to boost IMF resources, which at current levels may not be sufficient to overcome the crisis.

EU sources said one option being explored is for euro system central banks to lend to the IMF so it can in turn lend to Italy and Spain while applying IMF borrowing conditions.

"We will discuss with the ECB. The ECB is an independent institution, so we will put on the table some proposals and after that it is for the ECB to take the decision," Belgian Finance Minister Didier Reynders told reporters.

With Germany opposed to the idea of the ECB providing liquidity to the EFSF or acting as a lender of last resort, the euro zone needs a way of calming markets and fast.

The ECB shows no sign yet of responding to widespread calls to massively increase its bond-buying although EU officials said it may have to shift, even if the EFSF was bolstered by IMF help.

"Despite the attempt to leverage the EFSF, I would agree that the IMF and European Central Bank have to be in the boat," one euro zone source told Reuters.

A Reuters poll of economists showed a 40 percent chance of the ECB stepping up purchases with freshly printed money within six months, something it has opposed so far.

The poll forecast a 60 percent chance of an ECB rate cut to 1.0 percent next week and a big majority of economists said they expect the central bank to announce new long-term liquidity tenders to help keep banks afloat at its next meeting on Dec 8.

EU powerhouse Germany has pinned its efforts on a drive for closer fiscal integration among euro zone members with coercive powers to veto euro zone members' budgets that breach EU rules.

Chancellor Angela Merkel told lawmakers she would not make a deal at a December 9 European Union summit to drop resistance to joint euro zone bonds in exchange for progress on strengthening fiscal rules, MPs quoted her as saying.

She told a closed-door meeting Europe was "a long way from euro bonds," suggesting they may not be ruled out forever.

Dallas-based Heritage Auctions sold the Apollo 13 checklist Wednesday as part of a batch of US space program artifacts being offered during its 'Space Signature Auction.'

?A checklist used by?Apollo?13?commander James Lovell to make calculations that helped guide the damaged spacecraft home has been sold at auction for $388,375.

Dallas-based Heritage Auctions sold the checklist Wednesday as part of a batch of US space program artifacts being offered during its "Space Signature Auction."

The checklist was sold to an anonymous collector. The pre-auction estimate for the checklist was $25,000.

Michael Riley, senior historian at Heritage, says that without the checklist, the crew would not have known their position in space.

On April?13, 1970, an oxygen tank exploded as the spaceship was four-fifths of the way to the moon. The crew was forced to scrap the moon mission and focus on getting back to Earth alive.

Libya leaders acknowledge abuse of prisoners (AP)

TRIPOLI, Libya ? Libya's new leaders said Tuesday that some prisoners held by revolutionary forces have been abused, but insisted the mistreatment was not systematic and pledged to tackle the problem.

The acknowledgment comes a day after the U.N. released a report a detailing alleged torture and ill treatment in lockups controlled by the forces that overthrew dictator Moammar Gadhafi. The report says that Libyan revolutionaries still hold about 7,000 people, many of them sub-Saharan Africans who are in some cases accused or suspected of being mercenaries hired by Gadhafi.

Libya's new leaders, who received the backing of the U.S., France, Britain and other countries in their fight against Gadhafi, are eager to assure the world of their commitment to democracy and human rights. Interior Minister Fawzy Abdul-Ali acknowledged that abuses have occurred but said the new government is trying to eliminate them.

"We are trying our best to establish a legitimate system that is authorized to make arrests, detain and interrogate people," he told The Associated Press. "We are trying to minimize the possibilities of violations taking place."

Abdul-Ali said the government plans to create special security units under the authority of the central government that will handle prisoners. Leaders are working to bolster "the authority of the new government all across the country," he said.

Responding to the U.N. report, Deputy Prime Minister Mustafa Abushagur also acknowledged there are problems with detainees.

"Are there illegal detentions in Libya? I am afraid there are," Abushagur told a news conference. He said any abuses have been committed by militias not yet controlled by central authorities.

Libya's new leaders have struggled to stamp their authority on the country since toppling Gadhafi's regime. One of the greatest challenges still facing the leadership is how to rein in the dozens of revolutionary militias that arose during the war and now are reluctant to disband or submit to central authority.

Abushagur also denied some news reports claiming that Libyan leaders are arming rebels in Syria.

"We are with the Syrian people but we are not going to send fighters or arms," he said.

Also Tuesday, dozens of people with relatives who went missing in Libya's recent civil war rallied in front of the main government building to demand that authorities speed up the search for their loved ones.

Most of the missing were fighters, but there are also civilians among them. There are an estimated 20,000 people missing, according to the prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno-Ocampo.

Authorities have started trying to find and identify the missing but face many problems. For one, they need to build a DNA laboratory from scratch to match genetic material from living people with the remains in mass graves now spread across this large desert country.
